Pilates
We have a private pilates studio with two reformers and super quality instructors. And we are located in an easy to access location in Santa Monica at 15th and Broadway. Our current instructors are Gina Chai, J.R. Rogers, Donnielle James, and Trine Jensen and they are incredibly well trained. Dr. Weitz oversees the program and is involved with exercise selection and modification for each client’s unique needs.
Our pilates program offers either individualized exercise programs for people desiring a higher level of fitness or Therapeutic Pilates for injuries ranging from minor to more serious conditions and rehabilitation after surgery. Pilates is an exercise system with over 500 exercises which focus on the development of core musculature. The abdominals, low-back and buttocks are strengthened, thereby creating a solid foundation, reducing stress on the spine and the weight bearing joints. The end result is toned muscles, increased strength, and a more efficient body.
Our Quality Instructors:
Gina Chai comes from a dance background and has over 14 years experience in yoga. She is classically trained in Pilates but has been working in rehab pilates at several other chiropractic/rehab clinics in Los Angeles and the Valley, besides at Weitz Sports Chiropractic and Nutrition. Gina notes that she has had to deal with her own scoliosis and this gives her additional insights into some of the structural problems her clients may be dealing with. Gina also has a tremendous grasp on biomechanics and a great intuitive feel with her clients needs. She is also a very caring and warm person and her clients can feel this.
J.R. Rogers has an excellent background in fitness, having excelled in various fields of athletics, including both Track & Field and Football at an early age. J.R. Rogers was ranked as one of the Top 5 sprinters in the state of California during his senior year of High school.
J.R. got a football scholorship to Weber State University and he was the only True Freshman to play. J.R. also set freshman records for the 55 meter indoor dash in track & field.
J.R. took his sport knowledge and passion for fitness to perfect his skills in personal training. After years of practice and hard work J.R. Rogers was recognized with the prestigous accomplishment of 2006 Top Trainer of The Year Award. J.R. is able to use his athletic background to help his pilates clients improve their strength and stability. He does a great job both with advanced athletes and also with beginners.
Now J.R. resides in Los Angeles and has taken his talents of Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates, Core Weight Training, Kick Boxing, Raindrop Massage, Athletic Training, to the bright lights of Hollywood challenging Celebrities to turn their bodies to a JUST RIGHT BODY. J.R. is excellent at helping clients rehabilitate their injuries as well as helping clients to reach a higher level of fitness and strength. Whether you are trying to overcome a chronic back problem, or you would like to have ripped abs, or would you like to play golf or tennis better, J.R. is your man!
Trine Jensen
Trine Jensen is a certified Pilates instructor, massage therapist and Reiki Master. Trine received her Pilates Certification from Long Beach Dance Conditioning with a focus on rehabilitation. She danced for over 20 years and has had to rehab her own body on several occasions. Because of her diverse background in working with the body, Trine has a unique approach to help people maximize the efficiency of their bodies and prevent injuries. Trine is also a certified coach and a member of the International Coach Federation.
Make an appointment and give our pilates program a try! We currently have openings for new clients. Our fees are reasonable: $75 per session or $70 each if you buy a package of 10 sessions. Couples training will be 1.5X the price or $112.50 for two people exercising simultaneously. Or a package of 10 for only $1050.
